[Gyoko Procession Reenactment Event]Applications are now open for the second round of official registration to participate in the procession.

As a signature project of the 400th Anniversary of the Kan’ei Gyoko (Imperial Visit to Nijo Castle in 1626), a reenactment of Emperor Go-Mizunoo’s Gyoko Procession will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2026.

Through this event, we will recreate a historical procession together with participants who share a passion for Japanese culture and history and are committed to passing this heritage on to future generations.

The procession will consist of the following three groups:

  • Chugu Masako Procession (Chugu: Empress Consort)
  • Shogun Iemitsu Procession
  • Emperor Go-Mizunoo Procession

The event is expected to feature approximately 330 participants in total.
