A new serial feature titled “Flowers of the Kan’ei Gyoko” began in the April issue of the monthly magazine Kado, published by the Nihon Kadosha.
Written by Mr. Taketoshi Hosokawa of the Ikenobo Central Research Institute, the series explores rikka—a classical style of Japanese floral arrangement said to have been favored by Emperor Go-Mizunoo and regarded as one of the defining cultural expressions of the Kan’ei era—from a variety of perspectives.

The series is scheduled to run for a total of 12 installments through the March 2027 issue. We warmly encourage readers to take a look.
