As the signature project of the Kan’ei Gyoko 400th Anniversary Festival, an Imperial Procession Reenactment Event recreating the procession of Emperor Go-Mizunoo will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2026.
Through this event, we will recreate the historic procession together with participants who share a passion for Japan’s culture and history and a commitment to passing this heritage on to future generations.
The reenactment will be organized into three processional groups: the Empress Consort Masako (Kazuko) Procession, the Shogun Iemitsu Procession, and the Emperor Go-Mizunoo Procession, with approximately 330 participants in total.
