On Sunday, October 4, 2026, we were invited to participate in the Ishikawa Prefecture–Kyoto Prefecture Collaborative Project, Forum on Registered Intangible Cultural Properties, “Kaga Cuisine × Kyoto Cuisine: Carrying Tradition into the Future,” held in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. We introduced the Kan’ei Gyoko 400th Anniversary Festival and also hosted an exhibition booth at the event.
Venue: Komatsu Hokuden Hall
In 2023, Ishikawa Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture concluded an agreement on collaboration and cooperation for the promotion of culture and related initiatives. This forum was held as one of the initiatives under that agreement and was also organized as a collaborative program of the Kan’ei Gyoko 400th Anniversary Festival.

At the opening ceremony, we were given the opportunity to introduce the Kan’ei Gyoko 400th Anniversary Festival and its various initiatives.
Maeda Toshitsune, the third lord of the Kaga Domain, also took part in the procession for the Imperial Visit to Nijo Castle in 1626 (Kan’ei 3). The exchanges fostered through this forum thus provided an opportunity to carry these long-standing historical ties forward into the future.

The program continued with a talk by Masahiro Kasahara, chef and owner of the Japanese restaurant Sanpi Ryoron, followed by a panel discussion entitled “The Future of Kaga Cuisine and Kyoto Cuisine: Perspectives from the Next Generation.”
A wide variety of other programs were also offered, including a food presentation workshop for parents and children and a pairing experience featuring representative fermented foods of Kaga together with sake. Through these diverse activities, we gained a deeper appreciation of the richness and depth of Japan’s culinary culture.

We also hosted a booth for the Kan’ei Gyoko 400th Anniversary Festival at the venue, providing an opportunity for many visitors to learn more about the Festival.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone in Ishikawa Prefecture who made this opportunity possible, and to all those who attended the event.
