“The People Behind the Kan’ei Gyoko 400th Anniversary Festival” is a new series that explores the stories of the people who are bringing the festival to life and supporting it, through interviews and conversations.
The first installment features Kiyemon Hayashi XIV, a shite actor of the Kanze school of Noh.
He shares his thoughts on what he hopes to convey to people today through the Kan’ei Gyoko 400th Anniversary Commemorative Noh Performance, to be held at the Kongo Noh Theatre on September 6.
